Genotyping of patients with COVID-19, identifying the allele ATG16L1, which would help to predict whether they are genetically predisposed to suffer a fatal inflammatory response to the virus. Study of the genetic basis of the host inflammatory reaction triggered by SARS-CoV-2 infection, a relevant and urgent problem in the COVID-19 pandemic evaluation of the atypical activity of ATG16L1 to keep inflammation under control during SARS-CoV-2 infection.
