Modulate the entry pathways and control the inflammatory response of SARS-CoV-2 in epithelial cells.

Parasite-host interaction models will be used to identify parasite molecules that could modulate entry pathways and control the inflammatory response of SARS-CoV-2 in epithelial cells (cells that coat the inner and outer surfaces of the body and help to protect organs) and control the inflammatory response to COVID-19.

The molecules potentially responsible for these effects in the host are now available as synthetics, and are safe to be tested in in vitro and in vivo models of the SARS-CoV-2 infection and pathology.
